Biography

Rosa is an associate lawyer with Cheadles LLP.  She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Windsor in 2012 and was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in June 2013.

Rosa was a summer student with Cheadles LLP for the summers of 2010 and 2011 and enjoyed working in the various areas of law practiced at the firm.  During her articles with Cheadles LLP, Rosa continued to hone her legal skills, build on her legal education, and solidify what areas of law most interest her.

Rosa continues to work in multiple areas of law but will focus on her passion in corporate, commercial, wills, estates and real estate law. As a past sole-proprietor, Rosa understands the complexities of the commercial world in both a legal and practical sense.

During her time as a student at the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law, Rosa engaged in pro bono work for a variety of non-profit organizations and acted as a litigator for Community Legal Aid. In her last year of law school, Rosa was selected to be a member of the University of Windsor’s ‘Aboriginal Rights Kawaskimhon Moot’ team and travelled to Saskatchewan to participate in the national negotiation structured on the traditional Aboriginal circle consensus-building process.

Additionally, Rosa was also accepted to participate in the Advanced Business Law Seminar at which she was able to enhance her corporate/commercial education studying sophisticated corporate and commercial transactions taught by highly respected practitioners specializing in the area of law being studied.

Prior to attending law school, Rosa earned an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lakehead University in 2008 with a major in Human Resource Management and a minor in Marketing.  From there, she was accepted to work as a Graduate Assistant while obtaining her Master of Science in Management degree from Lakehead University that she completed with honours in 2010.

Rosa was born and raised in Schreiber, Ontario, a small town east of Thunder Bay and is a Northern girl at heart. She enjoys beauty of the North and her favourite pastimes include running, swimming, singing, and playing piano.

Rosa is of Italian descent, and is practicing her Italian-language skills to eventually be able to speak and write fluently. She is a member of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada and the Fundraising and Development Coordinator for Camp Quality Northwestern Ontario.
